Rob's Forecast: Showers, Cool & Blustery Friday

Scattered showers will be possible Friday along with a noticeable plunge in daytime temps into the low to mid 50s for highs, though coupled with a cool northerly breeze, it may actually feel cooler than that at times outside. The cooler air aloft will also help destabilize the atmosphere for convective showers, and given the lowering freezing levels to near or below 4,000’ ft, some brief hail or thunder isn’t totally out of the question with stronger showers. A high surf warning continues for the coast as does a Winter storm warning for the Sierra as snow levels dip closer to 3,000-4,000 ft’ and locally lower late on Friday. Look for both warnings to expire by Friday night as wave heights and showers decrease across Northern California. Next storm arrives Sunday with likely some higher rain totals compared to the two storms seen so far this week.
