Gusty Wind and Heavy Rain

Rain and wind will increase in intensity overnight as moisture rich air (aka the atmospheric river) will boost rain rates/hour into Sunday morning. Localized flooding and damage from wind gusts is likely into Sunday afternoon, then most weather models begin to push heavier rain way from the Bay Area by Sunday evening. This timing is critical as area creeks and streams will likely be at or near flood stage as well as some larger rivers, with expectations being rain rates and coverage will be on the decrease by Sunday night. More showers are likely through Monday with the next storm arriving Tuesday into early Wednesday. While not bringing as much rain as our weekend storm, this midweek storm will likely lead to more localized flooding thanks to already very saturated conditions around the Bay Area.
