Heat Peaks Friday

All the signs of strong high pressure are out there to start Friday morning. Marine layer depth dropped from 800 to 250 feet by 7am (good for patchy dense fog in spots near the coast), with much warmer, sinking air aloft mixing down into the region. The stage is set for valleys to rapidly climb into the 90s (and a few 100s possible) however a different story near the coast where a weak sea breeze and patchy low clouds should keep temps in the comfortable 60s and 70s. We’ll see some cooling this weekend as more clouds arrive on Saturday, however temps will likely remain in the 80s and 90s inland. A stronger sea breeze should help drop temps more early next week.
