Hot Temps Ahead

As temps heat up inland, use caution again near the coast as strong rip currents and sneaker waves from a large long-period swell continue near the south/southwestern-facing beaches into the evening. Highs will climb into the 70s and 80s around the coast and inner bay with mostly 90s across the warmer valleys. Temps will continue to stay about 5 to 15 degrees above average through Saturday as high pressure centered over the West Coast holds its ground. We’re hoping by next weekend the high will begin to weaken as a trough from the Gulf of Alaska begins to weaken the high and encourage the return of a stronger sea breeze. Around this time we may see mid-level moisture streaming northward away from Hurricane Linda toward the end of next weekend which may boost humidity slightly, but high temps should begin cooling noticeably.
