Mild Weekend, Heat Ahead

Temps will remain somewhat mild at least for now as another trough of low pressure drops up and over the Bay Area later into the weekend. This will keep the winds moving onshore, bringing in low clouds and some mist for the next couple of mornings and preventing daytime highs from climbing too far, mostly 60s-70s around the Bay with some mid to upper 80s well inland. Things begin to rapidly change around Monday as high pressure begins building back into the region, we may see a period of locally gusty and drier northerly winds which will need to be watched for fire danger concerns. As this high strengthens, we’ll see less wind and less of a sea breeze, meaning temps around the bay will climb into the 70s and 80s with 90s to 100s across the inland valleys. Things should cool slightly later in the week, but some computer models hint the cooling may come with increased humidity as monsoon moisture could once again sweep up from the south approaching next weekend.
