Rain Chances Ahead

The week ahead will trend a little warmer and increasingly wetter by the middle of the week. Instead cold Canadian air spilling our way, we’ll see a fairly ‘zonal’ flow off the Pacific Ocean – bringing in more mild air, and a chance for showers for areas mainly north of San Francisco for Monday into Tuesday. There may be enough moisture to warrant a few showers near the crest of the Santa Cruz mountains as well due to some orographic/mountain-based lifting. By Tuesday evening winds will begin increasing as the strongest system of the week moves our way. Expect a brief heavy round of rain with gusty winds for Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. Thursday will see more showers with some drying into Friday and most of Saturday. Enjoy your week! – Rob Mayeda
