Rare July Showers

Monsoon moisture streaming in from the east will continue to keep things muggy around the Bay Area to wrap up the weekend and provide chances for seeing some showers at times as well.Highs will be mainly in the 60s and 70s (with a few lower 80s possible in the valleys) with sunny breaks mixed with bands of showers moving east to west. The movement may seem odd, and it is as an upper low to our southeast pushes the clouds counterclockwise into the Bay Area and then offshore. We’ll likely continue the chance for showers now into Monday or at least until the mid-level flow aloft switches away from the moisture-rich southeasterly flow to one that is somewhat drier and westerly by late Monday afternoon and evening. Warmer and drier weather is set to return by midweek as high pressure begins strengthening again.Rob Mayeda
