Rising Surf, New Storm Soon

Winds from a strong storm offshore have helped created a long period swell that will begin reaching the coast later today. Breakers of 15-20 feet will be possible into Friday, use caution near the coast especially as King Tides return with unusually high tides of 6.6 ft. occurring Friday and Saturday mornings. Rain will become possible in the North Bay later in the day with a few passing sprinkles possible around the rest of the Bay Area on Thursday as increasing clouds flow into the region. We will see rain at times for Friday followed up with some gusty winds and heavy rain Friday night into Saturday as an upper low moves inland just to our north.
