Rob's Forecast: Heat Advisory & High Fire Danger

Dry, gusty north winds will continue to keep fire danger elevated into Sunday, with a red flag warning for the North Bay hills into Solano County until 5pm. Temps will likely rise a few more degrees vs. Saturday with 80s and even 90s possible around the coast and bayside locations including Oakland and San Francisco. A Spare the Air Day has also been declared with the worst ground level ozone rated unhealthy for sensitive groups in the Santa Clara Valley, expect another issued for Monday as well for worst air quality in the East Bay valleys and South Bay. A Heat Advisory is active from 10am-9pm Sunday, and like its Spare the Air counterpart may be reissued for Monday – at least for the valleys where even hotter temps may be possible near Concord, the Tri-Valley and south near Morgan Hill and San Martin. As the coast begins to see some cooling as onshore winds ramp up, the rest of the Bay Area should see gradual cooling as we approach midweek.
