Rob's Forecast: High Fire Danger, Warm Temps

As winds turn out of the north to offshore Saturday into Sunday, there’s a red flag warning for the North Bay hills from Saturday evening into midday Sunday for elevations above 1,000 ft. PG&E has issued some advisories for potential power management controls from Saturday night into Sunday morning for portions of the North Bay and near the west slope of the Sierra, so residents living in those higher elevations will want to monitor conditions. We will see a Spare the Air day for Sunday with unhealthy for sensitive groups air pollution for the inland East Bay and Santa Clara Valley, and may see another issued for Monday as well. We should see cooling returning around Tuesday and Wednesday ahead of what is looking to be potentially stronger north to offshore wind event into Thursday which could see stronger gusts and sustained wind speeds vs. this weekend’s pattern, so we’re likely to see even more extreme fire danger toward the middle of next week, stay tuned.
