Rob's Forecast: Stormy Finish to the Weekend

We should manage one more mild to warm day around the Bay Area as winds and clouds begin to increase into the evening ahead of a more potent looking storm system set to arrive late Saturday evening into the North Bay and track across the rest of the Bay Area on Sunday. Locally gusty winds will occur as the cold front passes overnight night Saturday into mid-afternoon Sunday with gusts reaching 40 mph+ in the hills. Rain estimates have gone up, now 1”-2” for the mountains and locally 0.50” to 0.75” from San Francisco northward and slightly lesser totals down through the Santa Clara Valley. Widespread rain should taper off to showers by late afternoon and evening, however brief downpours may return overnight as showers move through which may include thundershowers. Things trend drier later on Monday as we see cloudy skies into Tuesday but rain chances should remain mostly to the North or far North Bay into midweek.
