Rob's Forecast: Mild Weekend, Eclipse Outlook

High pressure will weaken slightly and our attention will turn to an area of low pressure forming near SoCal that may impact our weather in a few ways early next week. For starters, we’ll likely see some cooling temps with areas of low clouds and fog near the coast and inner bay (keep that in mind for Monday morning’s solar eclipse viewing from 9am-11:30am). While we aren’t expecting showers from this system, the Sierra and mountains to our south will have thunder chances ongoing from the weekend into early next week. Some mid-high level clouds from this system may try to spill northward midday Monday into Tuesday. We’ll hope those clouds stay out of here until after the eclipse wraps up. Temps should cool slightly, to slightly below average with 70s to lower 80s inland in the valleys.
