Showers Ending, Chilly Nights Ahead

MONDAY: Skies will trend drier during the day as a few lingering showers will still be possible near the coast and hilltops early. As skies clear, cool dry air in place will set the stage for temps in the low to mid 30s across the valleys, good enough for some patchy frost through midweek. A huge Bering Sea storm has generated a large long period swell which should begin reaching the West Coast around Wedneday afternoon. We may see another round of high surf advisories at this time. As clouds return around Thursday and Friday, overnight temps may moderate slightly as rain chances for now look a little too far to the north to be much of an impact. First chance for showers will be on Thursday for areas mainly north of Marin County, then weather models hint at a slightly stronger system arriving by next weekend. The outlook for the next 7-10 days does show average to slightly above average rain totals with more systems to follow into the week of Dec 21st.
