Rob's Forecast: Spare the Air Sunday

Areas of patchy dense fog will slowly clear to hazy sunshine. Light wind, and strong high pressure are acting to help trap air pollution, enough to warrant a Winter Spare the Air alert for the Bay Area on Sunday. We should see slightly stronger offshore breezes picking up again in the hills by late day into Sunday night. Wind speeds aren’t currently expected to be high enough to warrant fire weather watches or red flag warnings, however given the dry conditions and increase in wind speed areas above 1,000’ ft will bear some monitoring into Monday morning. Temps will trend slightly warmer early in the new week before temps cool and a very slight chance for some North Bay showers comes late Thursday into Friday. High pressure will return by the following weekend for more dry weather.
