Valley Heat for Monday

Temps will reach their hottest levels for the start of the work week in the valleys. Most spots will be approaching the 90s by lunchtime and nearing 100 in the Tri-Valley by 3pm, even as high clouds begin moving in from the south. If we see see too much cloud cover, inland temps may not get quite as warm as expected with the cloud cover effectively acting like a sun shield. The high clouds hint at our incoming chance for isolated showers and mountain thunder (mainly near the Sierra) approaching the middle part of the week. Temps should begin cooling some as well, with valley highs back into the 80s and 90s by Tuesday and mainly in the 80s by Wednesday.Rob Mayeda
