Videocast: Dry Finish to 2011

Interesting morning around the Bay Area with some areas seeing some thick dense fog near the delta and North Bay valleys where we are also seeing some patchy frost. Elsewhere, winds are beginning to pick up which is helping to mix out the what’s left of the low clouds and fog under a veil of high clouds drifting in. Even with the filtered sunshine we should still manage highs in the mid 50s to mid 60s for the afternoon. Sunday could trend even a little warmer as some offshore breezes kick up in the foothills, if this can manage to mix down to the surface that should promote more warming, drying — so stay tuned. Nights will trend a bit chillier though as things dry out a bit so areas of patchy frost could be possible again in our wind-protected inland valleys early in the new week. Have a happy and safe New Year’s Eve and Happy New Year 2012! – Rob Mayeda
