Warmer December Days

Strengthening high pressure will lead to some warmer temperatures later in the weekend into early next week. Highs will rise into the 60s for most spots with some 70s possible in the warmest inland valleys as well, which would bring us close to records for this time of year. In the meantime, we are also dealing with the not-so-pleasant side effect of strong high pressure which is air stagnation in the form of more Spare the Air days for smoke pollution. Without any storms to provide more mixing of the lower atmosphere, we’ll likely see these Spare the Air days continue for awhile. The forecast for now is remaining dry through the next 7 days. Enjoy your Friday! – Rob Mayeda
