Warming Ahead & Perseid Meteor Shower

High pressure will begin to compress the marine layer beginning Sunday night, just in time to view the annual Perseid meteor shower. It happens every year around August 11th – 13th and is best viewed away from city lights, looking toward the northern part of the sky. The best Bay Area locations to view the shower would be in the North, East & South Bays, areas that will stay mostly clear Sunday night into Monday. The best viewing: Sunday night 12 am – 2am. Aside from that a summer-like pattern expected to return to the Greater Bay Area this upcoming week.
