Weather Alert: Coastal Flood Advisory Sunday

We’ll see the return of some rain at times and increasingly breezy conditions on Sunday. This will be a much weaker version storm compared to the long duration soaker and strong wind gusts we had Tuesday into Wednesday. We’re still expecting the coastal mtns North Bay / Santa Cruz mtns to pick up about 0.50” or slightly more, while bayside locations and valley likely stay mostly under 0.25” Winds will increase into Sunday evening to about 15-30 mph, may briefly see wind advisories hoisted for the coast and hills for a time on Sunday evening. Showers should decrease into Monday morning with a mostly dry and mild forecast for the rest of the work week as high pressure returns, providing a break from storms. Unfortunately skies are likely to be mostly cloudy with showers during the lunar eclipse from 7-10pm (peak during the 9pm hour). But since the term is ‘mostly cloudy’ and not just all ‘cloudy’ there’s a chance you could catch a glimpse between the clouds at times and showers – good luck. Note…King Tides are upon us with the January full moon. A Coastal flood advisory will be in place the next two mornings roughly 8am-12pm for localized flooding issues related to these astronomical high tides near 7 ft for San Francisco at 10:03 am Sunday morning and before 11am Monday morning as well.
