Weather Alert: Rain, Wind Return

A fast moving, cold Winter storm system will bring periods of rain and locally gusty winds through Christmas Eve-evening before rain change to decreasing showers overnight. Due to the cold nature of this storm, stronger showers will be able to produce a slight chance for thunder and small hail could be possible w/ any of the heavier showers. Rain coverage should rapidly decrease into Christmas morning with breezy, cool and clearing conditions for the rest of the day. Sierra travelers should be prepared for long delays and possible closures overnight as a Winter Storm Warning continues into the morning, we should see decreasing snow showers by the afternoon for the Sierra, but cool, windy conditions will continue at times.
