Weekend Wind, Rain and High Surf

A powerful storm will arrive in the Pacific Northwest on Saturday, with the trailing frontal boundary reaching the Bay Area by the evening. Before the rain increases again we’ll see locally gusty southerly winds developing into the afternoon. A westerly swell to 15ft. will continue high surf on the coast into Monday. We’re expecting rain to move through the Bay Area into Saturday night and possibly briefly stall near the coastal mountains. For areas like the Santa Cruz mountains near Ben Lomond which received 3.08″ on Friday, we may see some localized runoff issues especially near the Loma Fire burn area. Rain and wind should be on the decrease into Monday morning as showers come to an end and a drying and warming pattern returns to the Bay Area early next week.
