Police Release New Details in Mysterious Killing of Data Scientist

New details have emerged in the mysterious shooting death of a data scientist last month near his home in Oakland.

Oakland police have been poring over surveillance video and Thursday released images of three people who may have information about the killing of 30-year-old Brian Bole in the early morning hours of April 11.

Police said the three people are possible witnesses who may have come in contact with Bole just before he was gunned down on Richmond Boulevard.

Authorities have increased the reward money in the case to $30,000.

Police also released photos of a silver Honda Accord they say was in the area at the time of the killing.

Bole was a data scientist who worked in the health services field on the Peninsula. He was walking home from a local bar when he was fatally shot just steps from his home.

A woman found Bole lying dead in the street in the area of Richmond Boulevard and Frisbie Street.
