A woman backing her car towards a Daly City police officer was shot and left with life-threatening injuries, Saturday, reports the Bay City News.

At approximately 7 p.m. officers attempted to stop a vehicle driven by the woman, before it crashed into a home, in the 100 block of Carrizal Street. The woman then reversed the vehicle, striking one of the officers. At this point other officers open fire on the vehicle, stricking the woman.

She was taken to San Francisco General Hospital and remains in critical condition.

The San Francisco Police Department's homicide unit and the San Francisco District Attorney's Office are investigating the officer-involved shooting.
