Cooling Today, Rain on the Way

Areas of low clouds and fog will clear to hazy afternoon sun around the Bay Area. Onshore winds during the day will also help to keep temperatures a little cooler than the 60s and 70s we enjoyed on Saturday. Look for more clouds and an increasing chance for rain later Monday evening in the North Bay and spreading southward across the rest of the Bay Area for Tuesday. Tuesday's storm will bring much cooler air with periods of rain and locally gusty wind. Snow levels should drop below 3,000 ft. by Tuesday evening, so some snow is possible around the higher peaks. This cold air aloft will increase the potential for stronger convective showers than could lead to some small hail or brief thunder at times. By Wednesday morning, things should calm down as the rain moves on through Southern California. Some showers at times and cool temperatures will continue for the remainder of the week. - Rob Mayeda
