Berkeley Humane Awarded Grant from PEDIGREE Foundation

The PEDIGREE Foundation wants to make a difference in improving the lives of medically needy dogs and finding them loving homes in the Bay Area.
“The Berkeley East Bay Humane Society is thrilled to be a recipient of a 2017 PEDIGREE Foundation grant. These funds will be used to purchase the medical instruments our hospital uses on a daily basis,” said Jeffrey Zerwekh, Executive Director of Berkeley East Bay Humane Society. “Without the support of the PEDIGREE Foundation we would have to limit the number of animals cared for by our hospital each week.”
“PEDIGREE Foundation is proud to support shelters and organizations that share our mission to help find loving homes for shelter dogs in need,” said Bo Segers, President of PEDIGREE Foundation. “We work to continue to raise awareness of adoptable dogs through our grant programs that support shelters and rescue organizations -- making a positive impact on the lives of adoptable dogs and prospective pet-parents. In 2017, we supported 337 shelters and rescues with grants.”
The Berkeley East Bay Humane Society relies on individual contributions and the support of foundations to provide the resources needed to provide medical care to more than 1,000 animals each year. The PEDIGREE Foundation is an important partner and their investment in our community has a tremendous impact on the lives that will be saved this year and for years to come.
