A large tree was blocking Sir Francis Drake Boulevard between Platform Bridge Road and the entrance to Samuel P. Taylor State Park Thursday morning, according to California Highway Patrol.
CHP Marin posted photos of the massive tree blocking both directions of the roadway.
Marin County Fire Department was on scene, working to cut down the giant tree "but it will likely take at least an hour," CHP Marin said.
Officials advised nearby residents to take alternate routes.
