Neighbors Raise Concerns Over Crosswalk Removed From Busy San Jose Intersection

Daniel Funk walks with a slight limp. The 12-year-old also still has small, but fading scars on his face.

Injuries suffered when he was struck by an Ford F150 truck at full speed. Daniel was launched 145 feet from the collision.

The accident happened at the intersection at 2nd and Hedding streets in downtown San Jose, near Burnett Middle School.

Daniel was walking in a crosswalk when he was hit four months ago. That crosswalk, however, is now gone, raising concerns from neighbors.

Residents call the removal of a crosswalk at such a busy intersection a disaster waiting to happen.
