Crews to Begin Work on Highway 880

Starting Sunday night, crews will begin widening southbound Highway 880 from Hegenberger Road in Oakland to Marina Boulevard in San Leandro, according to the California Department of Transportation.

Starting Sunday night, crews will begin widening southbound Highway 880 from Hegenberger Road in Oakland to Marina Boulevard in San Leandro, according to the California Department of Transportation.

The project will widen the highway to incorporate a carpool and reconstruct the Davis Street and Marina Boulevard overpasses, officials said.

There will be various lane closures, as well as on- and off-ramp closures to Davis Street and Marina Boulevard during the project.

Ramp closures are scheduled to be 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. each day. Only one ramp will be closed at any given time, officials said.

Lane closures are scheduled to take place between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. Sunday night into Monday morning through Thursday night into Friday morning, and 8 p.m. Fridays to 9 a.m. Saturdays, Caltrans officials said.
