Mayor Gavin Newsom has turned over a new leaf since his daughter Montana entered the world.

The politician known to frequent a bar or two, threw a booze free party for the Giants over the weekend. That's why the location for the lieutenant governor hopeful's possible victory party Tuesday is an interesting choice.

Newsom will celebrate his victory -- or graciously accept defeat -- at a tequila bar Tuesday night. The mayor will host a party at Tres Agaves, 130 Townsend St. in the City at 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Maybe the lime will have the bitter taste of defeat go down easier, just in case.

One thing that is for certain is that Newsom has an idea who he wants to replace him if he wins the lieutenant governor seat Tuesday but does the City know?

San Francisco Chronicle muckrakers Matier and Ross float around some names and play out possible scenarios if Newsom is celebrating with a victory tequila Tuesday.

The most logical scenario has Board of Supervisors President David Chiu taking over as interim mayor for five days. After that all bets are off with names from Aaron Peskin to Willie Brown to Tom Ammiano being thrown around.
