Tequila Thief Slugs Store Clerk

 Surveillance video captured the beating of a 64-year-old store clerk on Sunday, Marysville police said.

A man is seen going into Yuba Food and Liquor and picking out a bottle of tequila from the shelf. As he walks toward the door, the clerk is seen confronting him. The man is then seen punching the clerk in the face, then hitting and kicking him as the clerk lies defenseless on the floor.

Officers found the clerk lying on the floor and bleeding profusely from his face and nose, the Marysville Police Department said.

The Yuba City resident, identified as Jodh Singh, was taken to Rideout Memorial Hospital.

Singh suffered a broken nose, two black eyes and several bruises.

The assailant is described as a white man with a shaved head, about 20 to 25 years old, about 6 feet tall and weighing 170 to 200 pounds. He was seen wearing a black coat, black pants, white shoes and a light-colored T-shirt. Police said the man is considered dangerous and warn that anyone who recognizes him should not approach him.

Police said they searched nearby for the man accused of the beating, but were unable to find him.
