Thick Fog Blankets Bay Area Neighborhoods

Showers will move into the North Bay tonight with more rain by the end of the weekend. Meteorologist Kari Hall has the details in the Microclimate Forecast.

Some Bay Area residents woke up to thick fog hanging over their neighborhoods Thursday morning.

The National Weather Service issued a dense fog advisory until 10 a.m. for areas hugging the San Francisco Bay and the Santa Clara Valley.

Visibility in some locations was reduced to one-quarter mile or less, according to the weather service.

Motorists were advised to slow down, turn on their low-beam lights and leave extra space between them and vehicles in front of them.

Just over one week ago, many Bay Area residents saw a similar scene as heavy fog blanketed the region during the morning.
