Woodward Fire in Marin County Grows to 4,704 Acres, 71% Contained

NBC Universal, Inc. Crews are battling the Woodward Fire in Marin County through rugged brush to keep the flames contained. But as NBC Bay Area’s Joe Rosato Jr. shows us, they’re actually getting some help from new technology.

A lightning-sparked wildfire in the Point Reyes National Seashore area of Marin County has grown to 4,704 acres, according to fire officials. The blaze is 71% contained.

More than 400 firefighters are battling the Woodward Fire, including 12 crews, 19 fire engines, five helicopters and two water-scooping planes.
