Celebrity chef and Bay Area personality, Ayesha Curry, has been named Grand Marshal of the GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma Verizon IndyCar Series season finale.

Curry, who is known for her popular food and lifestyle blog "Little Lights of Mine," will take part in pre-race activities on Sunday, Sept. 18. As the Grand Marshal she will give the official command, “Drivers, start your engines.”

“You can’t beat seeing a sporting event like this in person, and I’m sure it will be an incredible experience,” said Curry. “It’s an honor to be named Grand Marshal.”

This event marks Curry’s first visit to a motorsports event. The GoPro Grand Prix will take place at Sonoma Raceway from Sept. 16-18.
