While we wait for the Anthony Davis trade to drop, the Knicks and Mavericks stole the spotlight with a blockbuster deal on Thursday afternoon.
The Knicks agreed to send 23-year-old star Kristaps Porzingis to the Mavericks, the team confirmed.
The Athletic's Shams Charania broke down the full trade.

The New York Times' Marc Stein was the first to report that the two sides were nearing a trade.
Porzingis is recovering from a torn ACL and hasn't been cleared to play yet, but when he returns, he will join a Mavericks team that is fighting for a playoff spot. At 23-27, Dallas is 4.5 games out of the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. The Warriors are currently the No. 1 seed in the West, and the Kings are currently tied for 9th.
If Porzingis comes back and helps the Mavericks get the No. 8 seed, that would certainly be an interesting first-round matchup for the Dubs.
