White Sox Sock A's

The A's were done in by the long ball Monday night.  The White Sox pulled out a 6-2 victory thanks to home runs by A.J. Pierzynski and Jim Thome.

Oakland jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning when Matt Holliday ripped a two run shot.  After that, the A's offense went silent.  Chicago tied the game when Pierzynski hit his first home run in almost a month.  The game stayed dead locked at two until the eighth inning, when Thome hit a three run shot to put the Sox up for good.  The homer was Thome's 550th of his career.

With the loss, the A's have now dropped five of their last six games.  Highly touted rookie pitcher Vin Mazzaro will make his Major League debut Tuesday night for the A's.
