Jobs Has a Debt to Settle With Apple

Apple owes Steve Jobs a lot of money proportionate to his annual salary from the company.

But when you consider he only gets paid $1 a year for his services, Apple is not on the hook for too much.

Jobs has unclaimed property in the value of $37.91 from Apple coming his way, according to the California State Controller's office.

The Apple CEO also has a few other checks coming his way if he decides to claim them, mainly health insurance paybacks. That makes sense for a man who has had a liver transplant.

Jobs is also owed $0.20 worth of dividends from Time Warner and two shares of IBM. Jobs is owed the money under California's Unclaimed Property Law, which "requires corporations...to annually report and deliver property to the California State Controller's Office after there has been no activity on the account or contact with the owner for a period of time specified in the law - generally three years or more."

Considering Jobs is worth billions, we're guessing he is not too worried about the $37 and the stock options. For the record, IBM's stock was down in early morning trading Thursday.
