Pablo Sandoval lost control of his bat during Tuesday night's game against the San Diego Padres (this is a file photo from a previous game).
Three fans have been injured by a flying baseball bat during a game between the San Diego Padres and San Francisco Giants, including a woman who went to the hospital.
The fans were sitting above the Padres' dugout along the first base line Tuesday night when Giants slugger Pablo Sandoval took a swing and lost control of his bat, sending it sailing into the stands.
The bat bounced off the dugout roof and struck all three. The woman was holding her head with a towel as she was taken out in a wheelchair.
A Giants spokesman says the woman went to the hospital as a precaution. Two other men got treatment at the stadium.
