Let it Rain! Prince to Play Again in Oakland at Oracle Arena After Killer Paramount Theater Show

Last time, tickets sold out in minutes, and orchestra seats sold for $300.

After what fans and reviewers described as a killer Prince concert at the Paramont Theatre in Oakland, the popular and mysterious singer will be playing again on Friday, according to promoter Live Nation Bay Area.

Prince will play his second "Piano &a Microphone" show at the Oracle Arena in Oakland on Friday at 9 p.m., and tickets go on sale at 4 p.m. Tuesday. Last time, tickets sold out in minutes, and orchestra seats sold for $300. Prince himself tweeted out a video of him twirling a basketball - a nod to performing at the same venue where the Golden Gate Warriors play ball.

The San Francisco Chronicle said the Great Purple sat at his piano and mesmerized the crowd, whom he chastises for taking out cell phones and his guards will confiscate them if need be. The Mercury News was flabbergasted at the repeat encores he did.

His new show debuted on February 16 in Melbourne, Australia, and features Prince performing old and new material at a grand piano.

At that performance, he paid tribute to the passing of Denise Matthews, the singer who was one of his most memorable protege of the '80s as Vanity and who passed away in a Fremont hospital on February 15. Prince is in the Bay Area because he attended Matthews' funeral in Union City on Sunday before his first show.
