7.5 Earthquake Strikes Papua New Guinea, Triggers Tsunami Warning

A major earthquake in Papua New Guinea has triggered a tsunami warning, as a 7.5 quake struck near the city of Kokopo on the northeast part of the island.

A tsunami warning is in effect for coasts within 620 miles of the epicenter.

The coast of New Guinea, as well as the Solomon Islands are most at risk. But the northwestern Hawaiian Islands may see minor effects from the quake.
