Sonoma County deputies are investigating human remains found at Shiloh Regional Park in Windsor.

Around 2:00 p.m. Sunday, a father called the sheriff's office and said he and his two children came upon a human skull and a tennis shoe in a creek bed.

"It will take a while to carefully and systematically find everything there,” Lt. Carlos Basurto said.

Deputies also found other skeletal remains nearby under some leaves.

The investigation will continue Monday morning and deputies say the identity of the remains is still unknown.
