Last Day to Register in California to Vote in June 7 Primary

Monday is the last day to register to vote for California's June presidential primary election.

Last minute voters flooded the Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters Office to make sure their vote would be heard come June 7 and many of those folks were switching sides. Since January, more than 4,000 people in Santa Clara County have changed their party affiliation.

Those wishing to vote for a Democrat or independent can register as "Decline to State" and request a crossover ballot at the polls. However, those wishing to vote for a Republican, Green Party, or Peace and Freedom Candidate must register with a specific party.

Hillary Clinton continues to lead over Bernie Sanders and needs just 90 more delegates to lock up the Democratic nomination. According to the latest NBC News poll, Clinton holds a slim three percent lead over Republican candidate Donald Trump.

Registration must be postmarked or submitted electronically no later than the end of the day. People can register to vote online at the Secretary of State's Office website.
