A new map put together by the Health Trust of Santa Clara County is helping relief workers coordinate their outreach to the homeless.
The map used census data, can pinpoint where homeless encampments are forming and the number of people at each site.
Support groups such as Cham's Ministry Mercy Mobile in San Jose are using the map to help provide care.
The City of San Jose is studying proposals to create supervised sites and convert buildings into affordable housing.
