Sean Parker Offered Ian McKellen $1.5M to Officiate Wedding in Gandalf Garb: Report

Napster founder and Facebook's first president Sean Parker had one pricey wish for his 2013 wedding. He even offered $1.5 million to make it come true.

Unfortunately, Ian McKellen, also known as Gandalf from the famous Lord Of The Rings series, turned down Parker's million dollar request to officiate the marriage dressed in Gandalf-themed garb, according to Business Insider and The Daily Mail.

McKellen apologized to Parker for the misfortune, telling The Daily Mail that "Gandalf doesn't do weddings."

The now three-year-old wedding between Parker and singer-songwriter Alexandra Lenas still went off at a reported price tag of $4.5 million, according to Business Insider.

The extravagant ceremony, which was performed in the wilderness of Big Sur, featured live animals, a bountiful feast spread out on white fur and a wedding cake soaring in at 9 feet tall, according to Business Insider.

The hefty wedding bill was later increased when Parker was fined for damaging an environmentally fragile landscape, Business Insider reported. His settlement with the California Coastal Commission was finalized at $2.5 million.
