With two World Series championships in the last three years, it's tough for the San Francisco Giants to anger their fan base.

One way, as was learned Monday, is giving a custom Giants jersey to Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll.

Carroll, who's rivalry with 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh is well documented, tweeted a picture of the No. 12 World-Series jersey gifted to him Monday morning:

While the choice of number is likely meant to remember the 2012 World Series title, it's also one closely associated with the Seahawks. The team's fan base is commonly referred to as the 12th Man and a No. 12 flag is raised before every home game.

That, of course, assumes Carroll isn't a big fan of Guillermo Quiroz, who currently wears No. 12, or Nate Schierholtz or Xavier Nady, who both wore it last season.

Carroll, a Marin County native, is a longtime fan of the Giants, but that still didn't sit well with many Giants fans, who also hold strong allegiances to the 49ers, Seattle's No. 1 rival. The pair split their meetings last season and is expected to be two of the front runners to go to the Super Bowl next season.

During the 49ers' run to the Super Bowl last season, Giants manager Bruce Bochy showed his support for the local team by sporting a 49ers hat in a pregame press conference.
