Marcela is a bilingual journalist with more than seven years of experience in storytelling across broadcast and digital platforms.

Originally from Mexico, she began her journalism career in 2018 as an intern for NBC 7 and Telemundo 20 in San Diego. After graduating from San Diego State University, Marcela moved to Salinas, California, to work as a multimedia journalist, anchor, and producer for Telemundo 23.

Most recently, Marcela spent two and a half years as a digital producer at News4JAX in Jacksonville, where she covered Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia.

Marcela firmly believes in the power of journalism to empower and uplift communities. As a journalist, she is committed to telling stories that help her community thrive, and she is especially passionate about serving her Latino community.

Outside the newsroom, Marcela loves to dance, sing, read and spend time in nature.
