Marinee Zavala nació en Tijuana, Baja California. Es licenciada en Comunicación por la Universidad Autónoma de Baja California y cuenta con una Maestría en Administración de Negocios (MBA) por el Centro de Enseñanza Técnica y Superior (CETYS).
Zavala fue corresponsal de Telemundo 20 en Tijuana, donde realizó reportajes de alcance regional e internacional, enfocados principalmente en temas de migración, frontera e inseguridad. Actualmente se desempeña como presentadora y reportera de fin de semana.
A lo largo de su carrera, ha sido corresponsal de noticias para noticieros nacionales en México, así como para medios de prensa escrita de circulación nacional, entre ellos El Heraldo de México.
Marinee Zavala también ha trabajado como corresponsal en Israel, Washington D.C., San Francisco y la Ciudad de México, destacándose por su interés en temas relacionados con la frontera, la ciencia y las soluciones a la contaminación binacional entre San Diego y Tijuana.
Es coautora del libro “El recuento de los pasos”, publicado con motivo de los 100 años del Cuerpo de Bomberos de Tijuana, donde aborda el combate de incendios en la frontera entre California y Baja California, así como la colaboración binacional entre los equipos de emergencia.
