Fremont police arrested a 39-year-old man on suspicion of battery after he allegedly hit a grocery store employee multiple times with a loaf of French bread late Sunday night.

Police said they received a call of a man pushing and hitting an employee at the store in the 39100 block of Argonaut Way. When officers arrived on the scene, the suspect was seen yelling at an employee.
