Martinez Wingstop Robbed at Knifepoint

Police in the East Bay are looking for a couple of knife-wielding robbers who held up a Wingstop restaurant Thursday night.

Martinez police officers responded at about 10:30 p.m. to the Wingstop at 1029 Arnold Drive to a report of a possible robbery in progress at the restaurant, police said.

Investigators say a witness told police the two suspects walked up to a cashier and demanded money –with customers in the restaurant. One even flashed his knife in an employee's face, forcing her to open the cash register.

The pair escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash before officers arrived.

Witnesses are asked to call the Martinez Detective Bureau at (925) 372-3400.
