Pepper Spray Cop Gets Arty Meme

UC Davis policeman being inserted into famous masterpieces.

Nonchalantly spraying toxic pepper spray at protesting students has gotten one UC Davis policeman his own internet meme.

Images of the UC Davis policeman, identified as Lt. John Pike, were posted to Reddit the same day the protest took place. The video of the incident went viral almost immediately upon posting.

The Washington Post is giving it a ride, too. And Tumblr owns this, of course.

According to KnowYourMeme, "compilations of the images began appearing on Facebook community Occupy Lulz, and BoingBoing on November 20th. Additional sightings on Washington Post, Gawker and Buzzfeed. Three separate single topic Tumblrs were also created that day."

Pike is shown strolling through the signing of the Declaration of Independence, which he is spraying. In another, he's inserted into Andrew Wyeth's "Christina's World" -- where he is shown spraying Christina.

He's also on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, spraying God.
