SJ Man Sentenced for Keeping Pipe Bombs, Guns

After pleading guilty to 50 felony counts, the 63-year-old man was sentenced to five years in prison.

A San Jose man who police said kept pipe bombs and dozens of weapons at his home has been sentenced to five years in prison.

The San Jose Mercury News reported that 63-year-old Mark Sedlock pleaded guilty after reaching a plea deal with prosecutors.

Last year police discovered four pipe bombs in Sedlock's home, and evacuated the entire block to detonate the explosives.

The search also found 44 rifles, pistols, revolvers and other guns.

Sedlock was charged with 50 felony counts, and faced more than 36 years in prison.

Santa Clara County prosecutor Bud Porter said Sedlock had a previous felony conviction, which meant he could not own a gun.

Under the deal, Porter said Sedlock would likely be released from prison after serving about half of the sentence.
